My first 'racer' recumbent was build in 1994. It was based
on pictures of the flevo racer. I reused quite a lot
of parts from an old touring bicycle to reduce the cost of the
experiment, so it looked a bit different compared to the original.
Riding such a racer turned out to be great and after one year
the initial concept had to be improved to be able to withstand
everyday use in rainy, snowy (salty roads) and of course nice
weather conditions. So, the frame was slightly modified, better
brakes were added and a nice coat finished it off.
This version lasted for about three years. Then at the end of another
winter corrosion was that heavy that I decided to refurnish
the racer and take the change to modify the rear wheel suspension.
Some minor changes to the front part were also necessary and
a finishing yellow touch yielded these results:
